How do I bail someone out of jail?

Q: What do I need to get a bond?

A: Bail bond companies require a cosigner. A cosigner is someone who signs the bond form along with the person who has been arrested. The cosigner agrees to pay the entire bond amount plus court costs if the defendant fails to appear in court.

Cosigners need to have identification and proof of employment. For large bonds, cosigners may need to own property.

Q: What should I do when somebody is arrested?

A: Give us a call. We will need to know the bond amount in order to quote a price. We can find the bond amount fairly soon after intake. For information, call the jail book in desk at 678-493-4222.

We charge a $20 jail fee for all bonds we do at the Cherokee County Detention center in addition to the bond fee.

Q: How long does it take to do a bail bond?

A: Normally after someone is arrested, it takes several hours for the deputies to complete the booking process. Fingerprint results can sometimes take up to 4 hours. Many other variables can effect how long the process takes.

Completing our paperwork at the Godfrey Bonding office takes approximately 10 minutes. If you have additional questions, call us at 770-479-5230.
